Daisetsu Kogen Ponds(Numa-meguri Hiking Trail)

Starting from Kogen Onsen at an altitude of 1,230m, the trail passes through various swamps. You can enjoy not only the swamps, but also a wide variety of plants, from mixed forest to alpine plants and marsh plants. ​Various animals live here, including the largest mammal in Japan,brown bears.

This course is the only one in DaisetsuzanNational Park that has time regulations and designated eating spaces. Also the stuff there are patrols every day during the season, and it is necessary to take lecture before start hiking. While enjoying the primeval forest where brown bears live, you might also learn how the ecological cycle works in the forest.

During the day, it is expected to experience the journey from "human and nature" to "nature included human"with us.

*This trail prohibits the use of fire and cooking with hot water, such as instant soup. For any inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

NOTICE

The payment

- Payment must be made in cash on the day.

Modifications and terminations

- The schedule and timing are subject to change in the event of bear sightings, inclement weather, and other unforeseen circumstances.

-If inclement weather conditions such as heavy rain or thunderstorms render the activity unsuitable, we will notify you by 5:00 p.m. on the preceding day to arrange for cancellation.

- Fees for canceling a service or reservation

            12 hours prior to departure - Free.

            Within 12 hours prior to departure, a 50% fee will be charged.

            Failure to provide notice or participate will result in a 100% fee charge.


Insurance
- The fee covers domestic travel accident insurance, providing coverage of up to 5 million yen for death and permanent disability, 5,000 yen per day for hospitalization, and 3,000 yen per day for outpatient treatment. However, it is advisable to consider purchasing additional optional insurance for comprehensive coverage.
